Home (Sort Of) At Last

Our babies are finally out of the NICU!  We brought Julie and Cruz home on May 1st (22 days in the NICU) and Kash came home May 2nd (23 days in the NICU).  The nurses were shocked that they all were doing so well and were coming home (basically) together.  They originally told us to plan on taking them home around their due date (May 30th) and plan on them coming home individually.  Our nurse had another set of triplets recently where Baby A came home, a week later Baby B, and 2 weeks later Baby C.  Crazy!  I couldn't imagine our babies coming home that far apart and leaving one or two home to go visit the third one in the hospital.  We are still staying with a friend in Salt Lake and are heading to our home in CA next week!
Julie - no cords, no wires, no feeding tube - ready to leave the NICU!

 Buckled in!

 So sweet.

 All three home at last!

Been sitting here for over 3 hours crying and reading your beautiful blog. I'm beyond happy for you two! Holy dimples indeed. They are the most beautiful babies I've ever seen. I read Jamie's blog awhile ago (some one referred me there after I announced I was having triplets). You are brave and you deserve every ounce of happiness. I will continue to follow your story. You express yourself better than you know. xoxo

I am not sure if you remember us, but my Husband and I spoke at an adoption conference that we met you and your sweet husband at. We were watching the news tonight and saw your story and tears came flowing. We are so happy and thrilled for you both and your babies are so precious and their story is full of love and miracles. We truly wish you the very best and are sending our love to your family -

Congrats!
And Curtis, speaking of IVF, my super-nanny daughter switched from Heidi Klum/Seal to billionaire Elon Musk... for his triplets and twins (all boys). So, good luck!

P.S.: I'm still hosting WVB and MVB, soccer, football, etc. - your cuties are gonna light up Legacy Hall :)

Congratulations! I just saw your story on KUTV. I don't know about triplets, but we do have twin boys, and having multiples is a blast! I'm glad they're doing so well!

Hi Kim,

I am really glad I saw the news story last night I found Jamie's blog and left a "comment" there for her but I also want to leave a "comment" on yours. Below is what I wrote to Jamie.

"Hi Jamie,

We don't know each other but I am like you. I have offered my sister in law to be her surrogate after her three failed IUI's and three IVF's. I have four children. I am here in Utah and my sister in law and her husband (married for 7 years) just found out that they are moving back from HI to Utah. They will be moving in with us at the beginning of June for a short time. I have a lot of questions for you regarding surrogacy. I have done research online but still have so many questions. I am hoping you wouldn't mind answering some questions for me. If you like I will give you my email or phone and you can contact me. -Amber Hathaway (Farmington, UT)"

I would also like to ask you questions so if you are interested let me know and I will exchange my contact information.

I just spent the last 2 hours reading your entire story start to finish! I am just over the moon happy for your family. We actually had a similar situation. I have PCOS but my husband was fine. We had a little girl with clomid. But we went 6 years, and 4 rounds of invitro (same dr's you used) before deciding adoption was the best route for us. After of a year of waiting.... we got word that we got a baby. We were soooo excited! A couple of days later I had a very strong impression that I should take a pregnancy test. It would not go away. So I did... and I was not happy about it. Until I got the results... we were pregnant. 20 weeks along. With a little boy. Miracles happen. They come different ways and certainly not when we expect them. But I am so grateful. I appreciate my two little miracles so much and feel so blessed to be their mommy. What a blessed mommy you are. And to have such an amazing sister-in-law. I just can't even imagine! Sooo happy for you!

Congratulations to your family! Your story is so wonderful, inspiring and really got me thinking about what sacrifices I am willing to make for others. Such beautiful little babies. What a gift from God through one of his special daughters. Chelsea (Mesa, AZ)

I want to begin by saying Thanks for sharing your story on KUTV. Like Amber, my Sister-in-law can't carry a pregnancy and my husband and I have thought about making the offer to carry for her and I just have some questions...please email me if you would take a few minutes or what not to answer.
