22 Months

I can't believe my babies are almost two years old!  I wanted to write a few things about them so I can look back and remember this whirlwind :) 

::CRUZ::

Cruz has had the hardest time with the transition to one nap.  He gets tired and fussy right around 10am.  I try and distract him with toys, treats, going outside...whatever...until 12pm.  Then he'll only sleep for a couple hours and wake up tired and fussy.  I think his body is still adjusting (or at least that's what I'm telling myself).  Hopefully he starts sleeping a little longer and perking up to his normal happy self.  

Cruz loves to push things.  His favorite toys right now are this tractor thing that he pushes around and his shopping cart.  He also plays with his kitchen and tool bench a lot too.  He loves to play catch and throw balls to me.  You can already tell he's going to have a good arm.  He's started to play fetch a lot more with Tyson.  Cruz also loves to be held and read books.  He's not really interested in the TV, but he does love playing on Grandma's iPad.  He has started hitting - especially if one of his siblings takes his toy.  He's learning what time-out is.  Haha..

::KASH::

Kash is Mr. Smarty Pants.  I'm not sure if he's super smart or the other two are just behind haha...  He catches on so quick to things.  I have this toy with colored pegs that you have to match the colored pieces to each peg.  I dumped it out and he immediately put the blue piece on the blue peg.  I thought it was a coincidence, but then he put the yellow piece on the yellow peg and the red piece on the red peg.  What the heck?  I didn't even teach him how to do it, he just did it.  There were a few times he'd start to put the yellow piece on the red peg, then stop and look up at me until I said "no", then he'd put it on the yellow peg.  Cruz and Julie just put any piece on any peg.  It's kind of funny.  Kash looks at them like, "What are you guys doing?"  Kash also knows how to match shapes to their hole.  He doesn't even look at the piece, it's like he feels it and knows where it should go.  Cruz is getting a little better at this now, but Julie still tries to shove the square in the circle hole.  

Kash loves being held and reading books.  He'll go grab a book then back up in my lap.  He also loves the push toys like Cruz - the tractor, stroller, and shopping cart.  He plays with his kitchen and tool bench too.  He's also started hitting, especially when someone takes his toys.  Kash is a little more sensitive.  When he gets disciplined he'll go cry and hide behind the curtain.  Kash is learning a lot of new words lately.  He can say thank you, mama, dada, baby, doggie (which sounds like dog dog), ball, shoes, book, poo poo, more, etc.  A few days ago he came up to me and gave me a diaper and said "poo poo".  He really did poop and wanted me to change him.  It was pretty funny.  Cruz and Kash basically say all the same words, but Julie doesn't.  She can only say mama, dada, and thank you.  She just babbles her own language all day long.  Both boys still suck their ring finger while they sleep.  I would never know unless I had a video monitor - and you can also tell because their ring finger nail looks different than all the others.  

::JULIE::

Julie had the easiest time transitioning to one nap.  I think she was ready last month, but I just kept doing two naps since the boys weren't ready at all.  She is so chill and happy.  She doesn't whine or cry near as often as the boys.  She still has her moments, but overall is so happy.  She like to play by herself so the boys don't steal her toys.  She doesn't hit or pull hair like the boys.  If her toy is stolen she'll either cry for a minute or just start playing with something else.  When she's sad she'll cry and cover her mouth with one hand.  It's so cute.  Julie still loves her little rags while she sleeps.  She'll grab hold of it and start sucking her thumb,  She sticks the whole corner in her mouth with her thumb and sucks on the rag too.  Julie LOVES being outside.  She could sit and play with dirt, rocks, and sticks all day long.  She screams when it's time to go back inside.  I'm so thankful we live in California and can spend 90% of our days outside.  

Julie is by far my best eater.  She'll try anything!  They boys have started this thing where they won't even open their mouths to try a new food, even if it's super good.  I have to like force it in and then they realize they like it and they'll come back for more.  Sometimes the boys, especially Cruz, will chew something up for a while, and then spit it out, but Julie never really does that.
