Flu Shots!

Last Wednesday I gave my first injections!!  I was a little nervous...hands shaking...but everything went good.  My class went to a nursing home and gave patients flu shots.  I only got to do three...but then today we went to the Utah State Hospital and gave all the employees flu shots as well.  They just kept coming...  I did over 20 injections today.  I feel pretty confident now! :)

Body Worlds!

Last week my Nursing Interventions class went on a little field trip up to Salt Lake to go see Body Worlds.  It was SO amazing!!  It's a display of the human body...muscles, veins, organs, fetus...etc.  It really is such a cool exhibit!!  It runs in Salt Lake City at The Leonardo until January 11, 2009.  People donate their bodies to be displayed.  They have bodies of just all the veins...or all the muscles in the body positioned like a baseball player....etc.  If you get the chance, I would definitely recommend going!!

Tyson Update!

Tyson...possibly the best dog ever...is getting so big!  :)  He's almost 6 months now!  

Jack's Mannequin Concert!

We all got together and went to the X96 Big A** Show from 12pm-7pm.  The only band we were really interested in seeing was Jack's Mannequin.  He was amazing!  It was a lot of fun!  :)

Watch Monday's Oprah! (9/22/2008)

Just wanted to let you all know my sister is going to be on Oprah this Monday!!  Her husband wrote a letter to Oprah when she found out she was pregnant with her second set of twins...5 boys under the age of 4!!  He said that she needed a sanctuary, a place to call her own...etc...  So on their anniversary Oprah's crew came to her house, woke her up, got her out of bed, and made-over her bedroom!!  It looks so awesome!!  So you have to watch!!  

Chicago Volleyball!

Okay...so my friend Dawn asked me to go to Chicago with her for an outdoor volleyball tournament.  It's the biggest outdoor volleyball tournament in the midwest.  So we fly out there on a friday night, leave Utah at 1pm, fly to Phoenix...our flight gets delayed for 3 hours...and we finally  get into Chicago at 11:30 pm.  It was pouring rain when we got there...and kept raining and raining the entire time we were there.  We show up to the volleyball tournament anyway...hoping we could somehow still play.  There was like a foot of standing water on the grass where our court was.  It was insane!  There was even a tornado watch...so they cancelled the tournament.  :(  They gave us credit for next years tournament...so we will have to win it next year haha...  :)  We still had fun at the after party Luau and met a lot of cool people! 

We were supposed to be on the featured court...in front of where the food was...where everyone could watch us play...  Look how much water was on our court! 

Even the nets were sagging from all the rain...

I swear the water almost came into our car when we were driving!  So many roads were closed from the streams running over.
