Utah Surprise Trip

We surprised everyone and made a trip to Utah to see family.  It was so hard to keep it a secret.  I was so excited!!
 Walking through the airport.  Everyone was hoping and praying they weren't on our flight.  But the babies ended up doing great.
 Grandma helped us on the way to Utah.  We had to fly solo on the way home.  The babies did SO good!
 Mommy and Kash
  Grandma and Cruz (and his ring finger).

Jamie was SO surprised to see three babies on her porch.  I put the babies on her doorstep, knocked, and hid.  Shocked was an understatement!  :)

We surprised my sister at her 40th birthday bash.  We brought along the strippers.   She was SO EXCITED to see us!

 Puttin' them to work!  :)  They loved it.

Happy 40th birthday to my favorite sister!

Look at these faces.  To die for!

 Had to get another jammie picture before we left.
Airplane bathroom.
Cruz being a big boy.  Delta was AMAZING and let us bring all three carseats on the plane on the way home.  It was awesome.  I was a little worried being outnumbered, but they did great!
Traveling with triplets is not something I would choose to do everyday, but the trip to Utah was definitely worth it.  We got to see all our old friends and family.  It was a perfect trip (minus the fact that Kash got sick the last day - and passed it to Cruz and Julie just before Christmas).

Total Shock

Wow…I'm still in shock.  Some days I don't even believe it…but then I get nauseous and it makes it a lot more real for me.

So…in November my skin started breaking out like CRAZY!  I was so frustrated.  My skin only breaks out when I'm doing fertility treatments.  That was all finally over - so why in the heck is my skin breaking out again.  I told Curtis I wanted to go back on accutane or something.  I hate pimples.  It is such a confidence deflater.  In order to go back on accutane you have to take a pregnancy test.  I thought it was totally stupid that I had to do that.  I mean really?  Doesn't 5 rounds of failed IVF - and 2 more with a gestational carrier - make you exempt from pregnancy tests??  But I peed on a stick anyways - and bam - POSITIVE!!!
I almost fell to the floor.  There is absolutely no way.  I showed Curtis the test.  We both thought it was faulty.  It must have been old or something.  So he ran to the store and bought 5 more.  I peed on all 5.  And they all came back POSITIVE.  I still was in disbelief.  We both didn't know how to react.  How far along am I?  My last period was in September.  That would make me 10 weeks or something.  And there's just no way.  I was thinking I must be miscarrying.  I don't feel pregnant AT ALL.
The next day I called an OBGYN and set an appointment.  A week later I went in and they had me pee on another stick that came back super positive.  It turned blue right away.  They didn't do an ultrasound, so I still was thinking…"Oh, it probably won't last very long."  (This is my pessimistic infertile mind thinking).

I started spotting so I just knew I was miscarrying.  I just hoping I didn't have to have a D&C.  Those suck.  I went back a week later for an ultrasound and saw a little gummy bear with a freaking fluttering heartbeat.  Un-freaking-believable.  I have NEVER seen a heartbeat by myself.  Ever.  She put me at 6 weeks and said my last period was around October 20th.  That's impossible.  I didn't have a period the whole entire month of October.  I know that FOR SURE.  How in the heck did I ovulate without a period?  And how did Curtis' poor morphology sperm penetrate my random egg?  The fertility doctors told us that was impossible.  I seriously felt like Jim Carrey in Dumb and Dumber…"So you're telling me there's a chance???"  Haha…  I still don't understand how this all happened.  I mean…I know how babies are made, but for me a baby is made in a petri dish and implanted into another woman's uterus.  This just doesn't happen for us.  Obviously someone else had a hand in all this.

I went in for another ultrasound at 8 weeks and saw that little stinker still growing strong.  I had another appointment today - and I'm 10 weeks, 2 days and still chugging along.  Around 7 weeks I got pretty nauseous.  Not throwing up, just nothing sounds good - except carbs.  Give me some curly fries and chips and I'm good to go.  I'm gonna get huge if I keep eating like this.  I've also been super tired, which doesn't mesh well when you have 8 month old triplets, but we just make it work.

We are super excited!  We know life will be crazy with 4 kids ages 15 months and under, but my life is already crazy and we seem to manage.  I still don't understand why things happen the way they do…but I guess I'll never get it.  That's one question I'm gonna ask the man upstairs when I get there.
This is how we told our family.

Unbelievable

Never in a million years did we think this would happen for us.
Whole story to come...

Merry Christmas

::MERRY CHRISTMAS::
Love, The Browns

8 Months

(LATE POST)
Our babies are just getting cuter and cuter.  Their little personalities are coming out more and we love it.     They all laugh and smile all day.  They seem to be the happiest babies.  How did we get so lucky?   They are starting to eat baby food a lot better.  They love all fruits, squash, sweet potatoes…pretty much anything except peas.

They had their first encounter with sickness over Thanksgiving weekend.  It was the saddest thing.  Projectile vomiting, explosive diarrhea, blowouts, outfit change after outfit change, etc.  It was horrible. Poor things.

::CRUZ::
Clothes - 9 month
Diapers - Size 3
Cruz is just the happiest baby.  Once you make eye contact with him he gets the biggest smile across his face.  He lights up when he sees my camera.  The second I pull it out he puts on a show and smiles for days.  It's the cutest thing.  He still loves his ring finger on his left hand.  I can't believe both boys suck their ring fingers.  Too funny.  When he gets tired he becomes the most cuddly baby.  He loves to just lay on my shoulder and suck his finger.  Cruz finally figured out how to roll from back to belly and now rolls all over the pace.

::KASH::
Clothes - 9 month
Diapers - Size 3
Mr. Kash is such a sweetheart.  Both boys hate loud noises.  If Tyson barks or Julie starts screaming, they both start crying.  They seem so tender.  He still loves his ring finger on his right hand.  His laugh is to die for.  He has the sweetest little giggle.  Kash now has his two bottom teeth - first came his right, then his left.

::JULIE::
Clothes - 9 month
Diapers - Size 3
Julie is a pretty easy going baby.  She still loves her thumb and to have a blanket nearby.  She is starting to laugh a lot more.  She is so curious and grabs anything in sight.  She is so content and loves to just lay on the floor and roll around.  She can get almost anything she wants by just rolling to get it.  Julie's leg rolls are growing for days.  We love her squishiness.

::TRIPLETS::

And the hair pulling begins…

Turkey Day

We definitely had an eventful Thanksgiving this year.  Full of projectile vomiting and extreme blow-outs.  My poor babies got sick for the first time.

We drove down to Lancaster, CA this year to spend Thanksgiving with my brother Mitch's family.  My parents met us there for the weekend.  Curtis' family lives 8 miles away from my brother, so they decided to join us as well.  :)

We got there on Wednesday afternoon and all seemed great.  The next morning we were feeding the babies and Kash vomited all over the couch and floor.  Awesome right?  (Thank goodness Mitch and Jill are awesome and weren't mad at us).  They haven't done the whole projectile vomiting for a few months, so I thought that was weird.  Then a few minutes later Julie threw up everywhere - which she never does - so I knew something was wrong.  A few minutes later Cruz threw up as well.  It's crazy how fast it passed to all three of them.  They were all still happy as can be.  A few hours later we tried to feed them again…and all three threw up again.  Curtis tried to put Julie on his shoulder to burp her, and before she got there she threw up all down the front of his shirt and shorts.   It was quite funny.

Over the next few hours they got pretty lethargic.  They were still happy since they were all being held by someone.  Thanksgiving night I got super sick too.  I felt like I was going to throw up all night and finally did - over and over again.  Super fun.  The next day my brother Mitch and Curtis' brother Kenny were throwing up too.  Crazy!  The babies were still throwing up and having major blow-outs Friday and Saturday, so we decided to drive home Saturday morning so they could be home in their own cribs and back to our routine.  They are finally keeping their bottles down today.  Still fussy and tired, but at least on the up and up.  Having 3 sick babies is extremely hard when you are outnumbered.  You just want to hold all of them, but there is always one baby who is on the floor or in a swing wanting to be held.
I hurried and put them in their cute outfits and took a picture.  Julie threw up down the front of her dress before I could snap this picture, but you can't really tell.  Cruz threw up shortly after, so they lasted all of 15 minutes in these outfits, but oh well.

My poor sick girl.
Kash and his ring finger.  Too cute.  Cruz sucks his ring finger now too.  So funny.  I can't believe they both love their ring fingers.  So weird.

The Thanksgiving spread.  Yum!!

The next morning we woke up to three horrible blow-outs.  HORRIBLE!!
Saying goodbye.
Goodbye kisses.
I found this cute note in my purse from my nephew Derek.  How adorable!

We have SO much to be thankful for.  It's incredible really - all the things we have been blessed with this past year.  Most of all we are so thankful for an incredible sister-in-law, Jamie, who has sacrificed so much to give us an amazing family.  These three little stinkers are our whole life.  They bring so much joy and happiness into our house.  We are SOOOOOO thankful for them!!!
