Tete Lucy!

One remarkable lady passed away this morning...my Tete Lucy (Aunt Lucy)! I know she is in a better place, but it was still hard for me to handle. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to go back to California last month and see her one last time. She was truly one of the most loving and kind person I have ever known.

Day Two: A Walk Around The City!

I REALLY wanted to go see the Statue of Liberty, but we didn't necessarily want to pay for a ferry.  It honestly took us two hours to get there because we kind of got lost down town and everyone we asked told us different trains to take to get there.  Once we got to the Statue of Liberty we literally took a picture, then started walking to our next destination.  It was really funny...guess you had to be there.  :)  haha...
I swear this bull is in the movie Hitch...does anyone remember that part in the movie??

This is where the World Trade Center - Twin Towers used to be.  It was so crazy actually being there.  Crazy! 

We went down to Times Square to find a place to eat and just decided to go to Dave and Buster's.  We had a little too much fun playing this basketball game.  There were six machines lined up in a row where you got to play against each other.  This picture is of me kicking everyone's trash j/k  :)  

New York City is definitely a crazy city!!  Everyone is go, go, go and doesn't care about anything but where they are going.  It is not a place I would want to live, but it was SO fun to visit.  I would go back in a second.  There was so much I wanted to do, but a weekend was way too short to do everything.  My last day there, Curtis and I just hung out, went to the movies, and went to this AWESOME restaurant called Joe's American Grill...or something like that.  It was a great trip! 

Day One: Yankees Game!

Okay...so I don't know how many of you know this, but Curtis got a new job in pharmaceutical sales with a company called Novartis.  We were very excited!!  He had to go to a new employee training in New York for three weeks (he's still out there right now), so I thought it would be a perfect opportunity to make a weekend trip out there and have some fun together.  :)  I flew out late Thursday night and on Friday night we got some sweet tickets to the Yankees game.  Another Novartis employee had two tickets to the game that he didn't want anymore...so it was absolutely perfect.  Everything online was way up in the nose bleeds, and these tickets were on the third base side down by the foul pole.  
We honestly spent more time below ground on the train then we did in the city!!  j/k 

Curtis can seriously sleep anywhere...even on a noisy, bumpy train on the way to the game! 

Absolutely FREEZING!!!!  

We had such a great time...even though it was really cold.  This is the last year the Yankees will play in that stadium, so I was excited we got to see them play there.  The Yankees played the Mariners and won 5-1.  GO YANKEES!!!  

Volleyball Champs!

I play on this volleyball team in the Orem city league.  Our team is called "Island Sistahs"....yea, I'm the only white girl.  They said I can be on the team because I'm married to a black guy and I'll have brown kids...ha ha j/k  The girls on my team are so great and fun to play with.  We have been playing for the past six weeks.  We went undefeated in the tournament play and won the championship game!!!  1st place!!!  I am definitely out of shape but it's still so fun!! 

My Birthday!

This is what I woke up to last Sunday.  Curtis got up during the middle of the night and decorated our family room.  It was so cute.  :)  What a sweetheart!  

Chuck E. Cheese!

Yes...we went to Chuck E. Cheese.  I thought we were just going to go eat pizza or something, but we ended up with 40 tokens and had a blast.  I swear Curtis wants to go back and play that basketball game ha ha...  It was fun just hanging out with all of our friends !

Virginia Trip!

So...a few weeks ago Curtis and I took a trip to Virginia with his parents.  Curtis' aunt and uncle were celebrating their birthday and their anniversary (they were born on the same day and then got married on their birthday :) ).  I have never met his dad's side of the family, except the few that came to our wedding, and Curtis hadn't seen them since 8th grade so it was a perfect opportunity for us to go see everyone.  I was a little nervous, but it was a lot of fun!  I had to post a few videos I took with my camera of Curtis and his family dancing...hilarious!
